Fact-Checked By RHS Master Horticulturists
We recognise that the plant care guidelines you find online are often subjective – the internet is littered with so much content it can be difficult to know who to trust.
There are so many factors to consider when caring for the plethora of plant species, subspecies, varieties and cultivars out there – and what has worked for one gardener might not always work for another.
In fact, some Horticulturists spend decades perfecting the right care and cultivation of specific plant types and species.
That’s why it’s important to know that the information you’re using to care for your plants has originated from professionals – qualified Horticulturists who actually have hands-on experience caring for the specific plants you’re growing.
At Horticulture Magazine, our aim is to surface the insight and experience of these professionals – Master Horticulturists, Nursery Workers, Head Gardeners, Garden Designers, RHS Flower Show Award Winners, Plant Society Members and more.
That’s why all of the content on our site follows a strict publishing process honed over many years:
- Written by Gardeners – all of our content is written by Professional Gardeners, individuals who have spent years tending to plants in the UK’s unique climate.
- Reviewed by RHS Master Horticulturists – all of our content is reviewed and fact-checked by RHS-Accredited Master Horticulturists.
- Complemented by Professional Insight – for each guide we seek the advice and insight of Professionals who have years of experience cultivating that exact plant species. Each week we interview plant nurseries, award-winning gardeners and designers – solely so we can feature their unique perspectives in our guides.

The end result is that every guide on our site is a labour of love – hand-crafted and refined by a team of Gardeners, Photographers, Master Horticulturists, Editors and Industry Professionals.
