Golf nets protect your neighbour’s windows from rocketing golf balls when you’re working on your swing.
Purposefully, most nets are huge, easily deployable and extraordinarily designed to absorb the force from your rehearsing strokes.
You’ve likely heard the term “practice makes perfect”. In golf, this starts with the swing of the club. You can master the art of swinging by practising with a golf net. This useful invention can be set up indoors or outdoors, depending on your preference. A large golf net is wide and tall, making it perfect for ‘catching’ all the training shots you’ve taken.
Commonly, the frame and uprights of a training net are made of sturdy material and even capable of withstanding a strong breeze. There are a myriad of different types of golf nets out there and choosing the right one for you can be a little taxing.
So, we’ve made it easy by compiling the various types of golf nets based on dimensions, installation complexity, variable net targets, material robustness, packing convenience and usability. We encourage you to decide where you would like to practice, the size of the golf net and assembling simplicity before making your final choice.
Our comparison of these golf nets is based on their driving range, net sizes, setup complexity and price. Usually, for short drives or when practising for accuracies, a net design with three or more targets is preferred than blank nets. Large drive range nets are multi-functional which means you can set them up indoors or outdoors depending on your liking.

Let’s jump straight into our top choices…
A versatile, large golf net for intermediate and seasoned golfers to test their driving power
We chose the CLORIS Large Portable Golf Net as our best pick because of its flexibility and impeccable quality. The base frame of the CLORIS is constructed from steel poles while the uprights are manufactured from reinforced thick fibreglass material. The sturdy triangle structure allows the net to absorb the powerful impacts of the golf balls while standing steady.
Just like a flexible goalpost, the bow-like design of the frame and dense fibreglass support the golf net with superior stability. Regardless of the number times you drive the golf balls into the net, the exclusive tilt angle design allows them to roll back to you. So, you save the extra trips just to collect the balls.
The CLORIS golf net is quite huge. At a broad width of 10 feet and a height of 7 feet, you can deploy this net practically anywhere. Be it on your backyard, garage or even the basement, setting up the golf net is remarkably simple. After you’ve taken enough swings for the day (or night), you can quickly disassemble it and put it away.
Made from high-quality nylon fibres, the 7-ply knotless netting is deemed one of a kind. We are confident no golf balls will tear through it as the hitting area is loose and without much tension, causing the momentum of the ball to break away upon contact.
We also verified that this driving net comes with a fancy carry bag made of Oxford cloth. After effortlessly dismantling the golf practice net, you can simply chuck the individual parts in the carry bag and be on your way…all in a matter of minutes.
- Flexible and easy to deploy/disassemble.
- Wide 10×7 feet driving range.
- The unparalleled quality of nylon netting stops all golf shots.
- Convenient carry bag for easy transport of the golf net.
- Comes with only one colour (Red).
- Many separate parts.

Measuring less than 51cm (a tad more than 1.5 foot), the practice net features the perfect size for your chipping needs. Inclusive of structural poles for added rigidity, the practice net can be placed almost on any surface.
Designed with three net target designs for challenging your half-swings, you will surely learn a thing or two while you attempt to stroke the golf balls in. The practice net is useful to check on your aim and stance as your backswing the golf club.
The acquiescent design with pop-up capability allows the installation of this training net anywhere you like. More importantly, you can put it away without flexing a muscle due to its collapsible design and minimal storage space requirement.

Designed like a camping tent, the Swing Large Pro Golfing Dome Practice Net fulfils your training desires whenever you wish to swing your club.
The Dome practice net is about 63cm in height and quite straightforward to set up although there are many individual parts and tubes. Assembling the dome takes very little time and consumes moderate space.
The dome practice net can be installed easily in your backyard. It feels light at only 3.3 kg, but the Swing Pro Golf Dome net is structurally sound and resilient. The product equips a huge enclosed target area so you could go wild with full swings.
The surrounded target space means the sound from the impact of a golf ball is massively reduced. No matter how hard your swing, we are certain the landing shot is not going to be louder than a pop.
With a good ball return design, you can simply collect them from the base of the dome and resume training. With a carry bag included, you can deconstruct the dome net easily, load it into the bag and be on your way.

Another bow-type golf training net with two twos – 2-minute installation & 2 sizes.
Our final product is the QUICKPLAY Quick-Hit Golf Practice Net that is ridiculously simple to set up and comes with a huge target.
Suitable for both novice and experienced golfers, the QUICK-HIT practice net can be effortlessly constructed within two minutes – as claimed by the manufacturer. The fibreglass frame attaches without fuss to the uprights resulting in a swift installation without even requiring an instructions manual.
The firm, excellent power-drain net depletes the immense force from the golf ball using its unique knotless design. Their QuickPlay patented strong steel and fibreglass frame add to the structural integrity of the training net.
Another feature that we found impressive was the 2-minute setup. The manufacturers claim the entire golf net can be assembled within 120 seconds using all available parts, and without referring to any manuals, unlike their competitors. Quite impressive, to be honest.
The QuickPlay Practice Golf Net comes in two large sizes – 8×8 feet and 10×7 feet. Both sizes are equally wide for the driver and chip shots. Since the poles of the training net are pre-attached, putting them together is incredibly simple. Dismantling is also easy because of the pre-connected poles – meaning you shouldn’t easily misplace them.
- Includes a carry bag.
- Complimentary warranty up to 2 years when purchased on QuickPlay.
- Patented upright post technology.
- Available in two sizes.
- Might need to use ground pegs against a strong wind.
- Not so suitable for indoor use.
Tips For Practising Golf In Your Garden
Getting to a golf range every day isn’t always easy to do. But you don’t need to completely neglect to hone your golfing skills. There are some useful ways you could enjoy the game and at the same time, master some skills. Here are some:
Manage the course –Make a definite plan for each hole rather than swinging and hoping.
Focus on your putting – Be motivated to practice again and again and again. (We intentionally wrote that three times).
Set realistic goals – Aim for fewer strokes per round on each hole.
Use a practising net – Get a training golf net like the ones discussed here and train hard to hit targets.
Get a buddy – Invite a friend (or a few) for a game or two. Practising with another player enhances the game further.
How To Assemble Your Golf Net
Now that you have gotten a golf training aid (we hope so), it is time to put it together for some practice time. This step-by-step guide works for most large golf nets out there and in your home:
Step 1 – Lay out all the parts including the frames, upright posts and the net.
Step 2 – Assemble the metal base by fitting the straight bars with the corner bars. Some manufacturers have already pre-attached the bars, you just need to place them like a base.
Step 3 – Connect the upright posts to the base and make sure the metal catch (end) is at the top. Usually, two upright posts will be left ‘dangling’ once this step is done correctly.
Step 4 – Spread the net and identify the four corners. At figuring out where is the bottom, attached the each of bottom corners to the loop at the base.
Step 5 – Pull the top corners of the nylon net and attach it to each corner of the ‘dangling’ upright posts.
Step 6 – Once the loops are secure, there will be a slight tension in the net.
For chipping nets, the setup is quite straightforward. You just need to place the flat net on the ground and pull it upwards. The chipping net with superimposed targets is ready for some action.
That’s it. All you need now is to adopt a stance and swing away. Good luck!
