Megan Webb, BSc (Hons)

CARNIVOROUS PLANT EXPERT

From: Essex, UK / Role: Contributor

Megan has been growing carnivorous plants for 10 years now and within that time has built a collection of several hundred carnivorous plants.

Due to her love of propagation and research, Megan decided to study Horticulture at Writtle University in 2018 to better understand the industry.

Whilst at university Megan focused on building out her carnivorous plant collection, investing in a greenhouse and began producing YouTube videos and Instagram posts under the name of carnivorous_plant_girl – in order to show care guides, propagation and tours of carnivorous plants.

Megan graduated from Writtle University in 2021 with a First and soon after won the Aberconwy Award for her work regarding carnivorous plants. This was awarded for the best dissertation submitted by a Student or Horticulturist under the age of 30.

Megan’s thesis was titled: “The Morphological Plasticity of Sarracenia Seedlings in Response to Supplementary Nutrients”.
