Heuchera ‘Obsidian’ is a compact perennial grown for its near-black leaves.

It has interesting cream-coloured flowers which emerge in summer, contrasting nicely against the dark leaf mound.

Heuchera 'Obsidian' (Alum Root 'Obsidian')

The 'Obsidian' Coral Bells cultivar grows into a rounded form to a maximum of 50cm in height. It works particularly well at the front-edge of garden borders.

Choose this cultivar if you'd like to maintain the dark tinted foliage more consistently than other purple-leaved Heucheras.

For best results, grow in fertile well-drained loam. Part sun works well to prevent leaf scorch or discolouration. Watch out for powdery mildew and keep moisture levels even to avoid problems.
