Originally a Japanese native, Garden Privet can reach heights of 6–8m - but is typically managed at a height between 1-4m.

Its oval leaves give hedges a uniform look - and regular trimming encourages compact growth when used as screening. In mid-to-late summer, Privet offers small white flowers that sit above its foliage.

This is a plant that will grow across most soil types and tolerates exposed sites. In terms of care, try choosing a site with full sun if possible - and trim throughout the growing season to keep it in proportion.
