An RHS AGM award-winner, this fern has been trialled for vigour, stability and consistency in cultivation - making it a dependable choice for any gardener.

It grows from a fountain-like rosette, typically reaching up to 1m height and spread. It has layered fronds that bring depth as underplanting for trees and shrubs.

Soft Shield Fern prefers shaded positions - but otherwise will grow in almost all soil types, including poorer or shallower ground. It's a great option for those corners of the garden where little else grows well.
