Key features

Prunus laur. 'Rotundifolia' (Cherry Laurel)

Broad-leaved Cherry Laurel forms a towering upright screen over time which - when combined with its thick evergreen growth - works perfectly as a green barrier in exposed sites.

Growth is vigorous, with these plants capable of reaching ~4m or more in height and broadening to around 3–4m width without frequent cutting.

It's tolerant of almost any soil type (provided drainage is reasonable) and regular hedge pruning in late spring or early summer is recommended - to keep its size under control.
