Agapanthus 'Polar Ice' (African Lily 'Polar Ice')

An attractive African lily with ice-white flowers held in loose round globes at the top of stalks around 70cm high, this is a good choice for a container, or the soil in a free-draining, sunny and sheltered spot.

Like other Agapanthus, sun and shelter are important. Though the plant is hardy in warmer and coastal locations, it may need protection from a mulch in winter, or, if growing in a container, need to be taken indoors.

Leave the attractive seedheads for winter interest - rather than cutting back in autumn leave that until the spring.
