Astrantia major 'Buckland' is a graceful, clump-forming perennial that is admired for its delicate pink, pincushion flowers surrounded by silvery bracts. The blooms rise above tidy mounds of deeply cut green foliage.

This plant prefers a moist and fertile soil, and does best in partial shade, though it will also tolerate a sunnier spot as long as the soil remains damp. It also attracts pollinators and is a good choice for a wildlife-friendly garden.

Flowering from early to mid summer, often repeat flowering if it is deadheaded, this cultivar grows to around 60-75cm in height. It works very well in areas with more informal and more naturalistic planting.
