'Whirling Butterflies' is a cultivar of Oenothera lindheimeri. It is highly regarded for its pure white flowers that resemble little fluttering butterflies. The blooms are carried on narrow stems above the narrow, mid-green foliage, creating a light and airy effect.

This plant thrives in full sun, with free-draining conditions, and particularly likes lighter, sandier conditions. Once established, it is easy to care for and drought tolerant. It does benefit from light pruning to encourage fresh growth.

Flowering from early summer and well into autumn, this cultivar generally gets around 70-90cm tall. The gently swaying stems respond beautifully to even the slightest breeze.
