Hemerocallis 'Gentle Shepherd' is an elegant daylily with large, pure white flowers and a soft, green throat. Flowering in midsummer, it forms graceful clumps of arching foliage and adds a fresh touch to sunny borders.

Hemerocallis 'Gentle Shepherd' is a refined daylily admired for its large, near white blooms, each of which is enhanced by a subtle greenish throat. Flowering in midsummer, it brings a cool, sophisticated note to mixed borders and cottage-style planting.

Typically growing to around 75cm in height, it forms a clump of arching, strap-like foliage that provides structure in beds or borders throughout the growing season. Each flower lasts for only one day, yet successive buds ensure a pleasing display over several weeks.

Grow this daylily in well drained soil in full sun for best flowering, though it can also tolerate some dappled/ light shade. Water during extended dry spells and remove spent flower stems if you wish to keep things tidy. Like other day lilies, the flowers, new shoots and tubers are edible.
