Iris sibirica 'Ruffled Velvet' is a type of Siberian iris known for its deep, purple flowers, which are beautifully enhanced by softly ruched petals and subtle markings. Blooming in the late spring to early summer, it creates a bord yet graceful effect in beds or borders.

Around 80cm to 1m tall, it forms upright clumps of narrow, grass-like foliage that provide some vertical structure even after flowering has finished. The rich blooms look great against lighter perennials and ornamental grasses.

Thriving in moist, fertile, reasonably free-draining soil in full sun or partial shade, this cultivar performs best with consistent moisture during the growing. season. Dividing established clumps every few years in spring with help to maintain reliable flowering.
