Miscanthus sin. 'Kleine Silbersp.' (Eulalia 'Kleine Silberspinne')

Eulalia 'Kleine silberspinne' is an ornamental grass cultivar that forms compact clumps of erect and gently arching flowering panicles with a reddish hue. These fade to brown and then remain in place well into the winter months. Below these flowering stalks, the leaves are mid-green with white midribs.

This ornamental grass needs a location in full sun, and though some moisture is also ideal, providing free-draining conditions is most important because this not a plant that copes well with constantly wet conditions.

As a hardy plant, this grass is useful even in exposed locations, and it is suitable for a range of soil types. With a relatively small spread of less than half a metre, this can be a good choice even for smaller spaces.
