Molinia caerulea ssp. caerulea 'Moorhexe' is a purple moorgrass cultivar with an AGM. It has narrow green leaves that turn pale brownish and orange hues in the winter months, and purple flowers.

Purple moor grass 'Moorhexe' is a compact, deciduous, ornamental grass suitable for smaller spaces as it grows to just around 50cm high and wide.

This grass thrives in full sun, but can also grow in partial shade. It likes a moist but well drained or free-draining soil and has a preference for acidic soil conditions, though neutral soil is also fine.

The seasons of interest for this grass are primarily summer, when the purple flowering heads emerge and autumn, when the seed heads remain in place and the foliage also changes to orange and pale brownish hues.
