Penstemon 'Purple Passion' is an eye-catching perennial plant admired for its deep-purple, tubular flowers that appear in succession from early summer into autumn. The blooms are borne on upright stems above attractive green foliage, creating a strong vertical accent in mixed borders.

Around 60 to 75cm high, this plant combines very well with ornamental grasses and late-flowering perennials. The nectar-rich flowers are particularly appealing to bees and other pollinators.

It is best to position this penstemon in a well-drained soil in full sun or partial/light shade. Deadhead on a regular basis to prolong the flowering period, and apply a light mulch in autumn to help protect the crown over the coldest part of the year.
