Persicaria affinis 'Superba' (Knotweed 'Superba')

Bistorta affinis 'Superba' is a robust, mat-forming perennial valued for its rosy pink flowers that gradually deepen in colour as they mature. Blooming from midsummer to autumn, this is an excellent cultivar of knotweed.

This bog plant does well in poorly drained soil, though it also does well where conditions are moist but well drained as well. It will do best in a clay or loam soil though can tolerate a range of conditions as long as sufficient moisture is available.

Around 20cm tall, it spreads steadily to create effective groundcover where the conditions are right, and the attractive foliage often develops rich autumnal tones, which adds further seasonal interest.
