Phlomis russeliana (Turkish Sage)

Russian sage is a bold, architectural perennial with. whorls of soft-yellow flowers and large, heart-shaped leaves. Flowering in early summer, it forms spreading clumps and adds strong structural interest to sunny beds or borders.

Reaching around 90 to 120cm in height, it also has large, fuzzy textured leaves which are heart shaped and provide bold ground cover. The dried flower heads remain attractive well into the autumn, extending its season of interest.

Best grown in a moist but free-draining or well-drained soil in full sun, this plant is tolerant of dry conditions once it is established. Cut back in early spring to encourage fresh growth a d to keep the garden looking neat.
