Pulmonaria officinalis 'Sissinghurst White' is a refined, shade-loving perennial valued for its clusters of clear white flowers that appear in the early to mid spring. The blooms contrast delightfully with the softly hairy green leaves, which are often also attractively spotted with a silvery sheen.

Around 25 to 30cm in height, it forms compact clumps that spread gently over time, making it ideal for shaded borders and woodland gardens. The early flowers are an important source of nectar for bees.

Best grown in a moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial or full shade, it thrives in cool and consistently moist conditions. Remove tired foliage after flowering if you wish to encourage fresh growth and for a neat garden appearance. Otherwise, this plant requires little care when grown in the right location.
