Pyracantha ‘Saphyr Yellow’ is an evergreen Firethorn cultivar with white spring flowers and yellow autumn-winter berries. It is mostly used as a living fence with interest as it flowers and fruits prolifically in different seasons.

Pyracantha 'Saphyr Yellow' (Firethorn 'Saphyr Jaune')

Unlike Firethorn varieties with darker berries, Saphyr's yellow fruit contrasts noticeably with walls and fencing.

The plant grows out a significant sub-structure that can be broadened into screening. The spiked branches present a physical barrier as well as a visual border.

Selective pruning that repositions growth can more effective than heavy cutting - especially if you're looking to maintain berry coverage. With that said, Pyracantha is very forgiving of hard pruning where required.
