Trachelospermum jasminoides, also known as star jasmine, is a climber particularly prized for its abundant and sweetly scented white flowers.

The leaves are a glossy green and often turn a russety red in the winter.

Trachelospermum jasminoides (Star Jasmine)

Star Jasmine's fragrant white flowers fill the air with a delicious scent in summer. It likes a spot in full sun, though ideally with some shade during the hottest periods, and must be sheltered from cold and drying winds.

Perfect for a courtyard garden, this climber can be grown in a container, or in the ground, as long as the conditions are free-draining. It can also do well in a conservatory, or garden room, in a loam-based potting mix.

Not only is star jasmine a delight for humans in a sensory garden, it also draws in pollinators and, with its evergreen foliage, offers shelter for insects and birds, especially over the winter months.
