Anemone x hybrida 'Queen Charlotte' is an AGM Japanese anemone cultivar. It is perennial and grows to around 1.2m tall. Its flowers are semi-double in form, and of a silvery, rose-pink hue.

Anemone hybrid 'Queen Charlotte' (Japanese Anemone 'Queen Charlotte')

Growing to around 1.2m or even a little more, this statuesque plant is suited to the back of a border, or can be allowed to spread below deciduous trees in a woodland style garden. It can spread very easily. The pink flowers have central bosses of yellow stamens and up to 20 overlapping petals.

These Japanese anemones do well in full sun or partial shade, in any moist but well drained soil. They are extremely hardy, and resilient in a range of different conditions. The only exception is that they cannot tolerate prolonged waterlogging from winter wet.

Queen Charlotte is an AGM plant, and is useful for a range of different types and styles of garden. However, place it carefully as it can become a nuisance with its tendency to spread if it is placed in the wrong position.
