Bergenia 'Harzkristall' is an evergreen perennial which bears beautiful clusters of white flowers on sturdy stems in spring. It has glossy green leaves forming neat clumps, which are often flushed red in winter.

Bergenia 'Harzkristall' (Elephant's Ears 'Harzkristall')

Elephant's ears 'Harzkristall' is admired both for its clear white flowers, which appear on strong, upright stems in early to mid spring, and for its glossy green leaves.

The foliage provides excellent year-round structure and it often develops attractive reddish or bronze hues during the winter months, adding further seasonal interest. Reaching around 25-35cm in height, it is well suited to shrub underplanting, for the front of borders or for edging paths.

This is a hardy variety which grows well in moist but free-draining soil. It can cope with a range of conditions and will do well in partial shade or full sun. Low maintenance and wildlife-friendly, this can be a useful addition to many gardens.
