Bergenia ‘Silberlicht’ is an evergreen clumping perennial - ideal for low-maintenance groundcover and edging for paths and walkways. The broad green leaves are joined in spring by dark red stalks. These are topped with white flowers that often blush a pinkish colour as they mature.

Silberlicht forms a neat mound to around 40cm height and width.

It's short stature and preference for shady conditions make it well suited to the very front of borders, path edges and as underplanting.

This plant is tolerant of wind, cold and variable soil types once settled.

Use in exposed gardens, drier shade and other hard-to-grow areas. Light tidying of spent flower stems and older leaves will prevent leaf spot and deter pests like slugs.
