Euphorbia wulfenii is a bold evergreen perennial with tall stems that are topped by large domes of lime green flowers in the spring. Thriving in full sun, and well drained soil, it adds stately interest to garden borders.

Euphorbia wulfenii (Mediterranean Spurge)

Euphorbia wulfenii, also known as Mediterranean spurge, is a dramatic, architectural, evergreen perennial admired for its tall, upright stems and heads of vibrant lime-green bracts that appear in the spring. The striking flower heads are held above whorls of narrow, bluey-green leaves.

Reaching up to 1.2 to 1.5m in height, this spurge is ideal for the back of sunny borders or in Mediterranean style planting schemes where its bold form and luminous colour provide early season impact. The flowers are good for cutting too.

This plant does well in full sun and free-draining soil, a particularly good choice for poor and dry conditions. Once established, it is drought tolerant and generally low maintenance.
