Origanum majorana (Sweet Marjoram) is a Mediterranean herb with a delicate flavour. Its hairy leaves are a greyish-green and produce tiny white flowers in summer. It is not frost-hardy, so in the UK it's usually grown as an annual or kept under cover over winter.
