Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Alba' (Red Bistort 'Alba')

Bistorta amplexicaulis 'Alba' is a refined perennial admired for its slender, upright spikes bearing pure white flowers that appear from midsummer and well into autumn. The airy blooms rise abundantly above the neat clumps of mid-green foliage.

Reaching around 90cm to 1.2m in height, it forms strong, upright clumps that add height and structure to mixed borders. The long flowering season means that. this bistort provides reliable colour when many other perennials have already faded.

Suitable as a bog garden plant, or for use in any moist soil in beds or borders, this perennial does best in full sun or partial shade. It is robust and easy to maintain. Simply leave over winter and cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.
