Phlomis 'Amazone' (Sage-Leaf Mullein 'Amazone')

Sage-leaf mullein 'Amazone' is a popular perennial growing to around 1.2m in height. It has dark, purplish stems which bear coronets of hooded, pale-purplish blooms, and foliage of a deep green hue.

Provide this plant with a position in full sun with free-draining soil. Though relatively unfussy about pH or soil type, it cannot tolerate waterlogged conditions. It is drought-resilient once established.

The attractive flowers remain in place as attractive seed heads after they have faded, prolonging the season of interest. This is a great choice for pollinators, and in general for a wildlife-friendly garden.
