Salvia nem 'Caradonna' (Balkan Clary 'Caradonna')

Balkan clary 'Caradonna' is a distinctive perennial admired for its intense violet-purple flower spikes carried on dramatic, dark purple stems. Blooming from late spring into midsummer, it provides rich colour and nectar for insects in mixed borders.

Around 50 to 60cm in height, it forms compact, erect clumps of aromatic greyish-green foliage. The contrasting stems and blooms create a bold effect, while the nectar rich flowers mean that the plants are typically buzzing loudly with life throughout the summer months.

Best grown in full sun or light shade in a well-drained soil, this plant can tolerate drier conditions once established. Trim back for repeat flowering and to maintain a neat appearance throughout the season.
