Hylotelephium (formerly Sedum) 'Purple Emperor' is a striking perennial with rich, purple foliage and clusters of rosy pink flowers. Blooming in late summer and autumn it forms upright clumps and adds bold, long lasting colour to light-graced borders.

Sedum 'Purple Emperor' (Orpine 'Purple Emperor')

Sedum 'Purple Emperor' is a dramatic perennial valued for its deep purple, fleshy foliage that provides strong contrast throughout the growing season. In the late summer and autumn, flat heads of rosy pink flowers emerge, gradually deepening in tone as they mature.

The sturdy upright clumps hold their forms well and remain attractive even as the flower heads fade. Growing to around 40-50cm in height this sedum's blooms are particularly appealing to pollinating insects.

Place in a well-drained soil in full sun for best results. The is a plant that can thrive in drier conditions and which requires little maintenance once established. Leave spent flower heads over winter than cut back in early spring to encourage fresh growth.
