Hylotelephium (formerly Sedum) 'Matrona' is a statuesque perennial with purple-tinted stems and dusky pink flower heads. Blooming in late summer and autumn, it adds interest late in the season before colder weather arrives.

Sedum telephium 'Matrona' is now reclassified as Hylotelephium 'Matrona. It is an elegant, upright perennial admired for its purple-flushed foliage and dark, sturdy stems. In late summer and autumn, large, flat heads or dusky pink flowers appear, gradually darkening in colour as the season advances.

The contrasting foliage and blooms of this plant create a refined yet bold effect, while the flowers attract many bees and other pollinating insects. The plant reaches around 60-75cm tall.

Tolerating dry conditions and even drought once established, this will thrive in full sun, in free-draining conditions. Cut back in early spring.
